9:36 in the evening. Convergys Philippines. Judgment night.
And while they are discussing something about the results of our Berlitz exam (a phone interview with a US based linguist American) , I’m browsing websites and streaming audio files. Hehe. I’ve been extremely busy the past few weeks because of my new work.
- Back to Berlitz exam. Tang ina, mandatory ang exam na yun for Technical Support agents. I originally applied as a Customer Service Representative but my final interviewer asked me to take a technical exam. Upon job offer, she asked me if I’m interested for a technical position because I’m qualified daw. In mind that Techagents have higher compensation, I accepted the offer, haha. Hindi naman nabanggit sakin yang Berlitz2x na yan. During first week of training ko lang nalaman kaya hindi na ko makapagback out, bahala na lang.
- Berlitz exam day came. I took it at around 11pm, Pinas time. It was 11am there in Los Angeles. I talked to a woman named Michelle. She’s very nice but soft spoken. Hindi formal yung interview, more on about me. We were even laughing almost the entire call. She said she’s just assessing my English communication skills. After more or less 15 minutes, the interview was done.

Miss callgirl: Thanks for calling Globe, this is Michelle. How may I help you?
Me: My line’s not working fine for almost a month now.
Miss callgirl: What ahmmm.. do you mean sir?
Me: I cannot receive messages nor calls. Both locally and internationally.
Miss callgirl: I’m sorry to hear that sir but can I have your full name please?
Me: Nathan Hernandez.
Miss callgirl: How about the name on the contract?
Me: Jonathan Klein Hernandez.
Miss callgirl: And your number sir?
Me: 0927_4_9_5_
Miss callgirl: Can I put you on hold Sir Nathan for two minutes?
Me: Sure, go ahead.
Mainipin akong tao pero that time naghintay talaga ako kasi gusto kong maayos yung problema ko. Pero salamat naman at binalikan nya ako kaagad and the conversation continues..
Miss callgirl: Thank you for patiently waiting sir Nathan. As I check your account, it is okay and ahmmm.. when did it start sir ahmmm the problem?
Me: I think first week of February. I’m not sure.
Me: And I believe my contract isn’t expired yet, right?
Miss callgirl: I see and yes sir. May I know what is your mobile unit?
Me: It’s Nokia _ _ _.
Miss callgirl: Thank you for that information sir Nathan and ahmmm can I put you again on hold for two minutes? I am going to verify the details for you.
Me: Okay, take your time.
